There are many other attractions at the city of Belem. The
Tower of Belem, is another Manueline style structure which was also
built for Vasco da Gama's success. This structure is also a symbol of Portugal as
a world power before during the Age of Discovery. The Monument
to the Discoveries is a monument for the ships which sailed the then
unknown parts of the world. In this monument, there are
sculptures of the famous personages during that time.
Later I will visit the National Coach Museum, National Archaeology
Museum and Maritime Museum. But before that, I still have to finish this
delightful pastries, a local favorite called Pasteis de Nata.
